How to put EVO Darts Points in your darts

Using the revolutionary Caliburn EVO points makes the process of repointing your darts faster and easier than ever before. This unique system allows players to change the points in their darts in seconds.

Watch the video below for a guide on how to use the Caliburn EVO Replaceable Dart Point System.

The below blog will give you a step-by-step guide on how to install EVO points into your darts and the benefits of changing to this setup.

Before you start repointing your darts

If you are planning on repointing your darts with the EVO points system, it is important to be fully prepared and to have all the correct equipment with you. The Caliburn EVO Points Starter Kit comes with one set of plain Caliburn EVO points (32mm), a Point Driver Tool, an EVO Re-Point Tool, and three sets of EVO spigots (2.33mm, 2.34mm and 2.35mm).

You will also need a darts repointing tool (sold separately), such as the Mission R-Point Expert Hand Held Repointer, to remove the current points in your darts. You can then install the spigots into your barrels for the first use and, once the EVO points system is in place, you will be able to replace your points more quickly with just the Point Driver Tool.

Using the EVO Replaceable Dart Point System to change your points

Step 1 - Firstly, remove the current set of points on your darts using a repointing tool (sold separately).

Step 2 - Use the front end of the EVO Re-Point Tool to measure the drilling depth inside the barrel of your dart. If the front end of the tool can be fully inserted, you can install the EVO system into your darts. If not, the dart is not compatible with the EVO system.

Step 3 - Screw the spigot (start with 2.33mm) onto the EVO Re-Point Tool tightly.

Step 4 -  Take your first dart and (using a repointing tool (sold separately)) install the spigot and EVO Re-Point Tool into the barrel, just as you would install any regular point.

Step 5 - Make sure the EVO Re-Point Tool is pushed into the barrel until its lip is against the barrel. This ensures the spigot is in the same place in each barrel.

Step 6 - Remove the dart, rotate and wiggle the EVO Re-Point Tool to check that the spigot is now firmly inside the barrel. If not, go back to Step 3 and try with a larger size spigot (2.34mm and 2.35mm come included with the Starter Kit. Spigots in 2.37mm and 2.40mm are also available and sold separately.

Step 7 - Use the EVO Point Driver Tool to remove the EVO Re-Point Tool from your dart.

Step 8 - Screw the EVO point into your barrel and tighten it with the EVO Point Driver Tool.

And you're done!

Repeat with your other two darts to then have a complete set of re-pointed darts. Once you have the EVO points system in place you can change your points in seconds; simply use the EVO Point Driver Tool to unscrew your points and screw in a new set.

Why use EVO Darts Points?

The EVO dart points system has been designed to make it effortless repointing your darts, as the points can be changed in a matter of seconds. The concept of this system is once you have removed the points from your current set of darts, a spigot is placed inside your barrel and your new EVO points are then inserted into your darts.

Your points can then be quickly replaced with the easy-to-use EVO Point Driver Tool. With a huge variety of points in different lengths, styles and colours to choose from, the EVO point system makes it easier than ever to quickly and efficiently switch your points, so you can try something new with your darts!

Why repoint your darts?

Caliburn EVO Darts Points

For many years players have used various repointing tools to change the points in their darts. This has been a useful innovation in the world of darts, as the points in your darts can be just as important as the flight or shaft in influencing your throw.

Dart points come in various lengths, thicknesses and grip styles and players will often tinker with different styles of points to work out which ones most suit their game. A grippier point will work best for players who like to touch the point when they throw, whilst changing the thickness of your points can make your darts land differently in the board.
